Natalya saw a photo of this cute chicken on the Internet and immediately got the idea to create exactly the same one. There were no explanations on how to make chicken, so I had to come up with everything myself. Natalya hopes that her master class will be useful to someone. To make chicken we need:
* Plastic bags.
* Thick wire.
* Thin wire.
* Pen or pencil.
* Sheet A 4 - 2 pcs.
* Thermal gun.

Method for making chicken:
We will make a sketch on two sheets of A 4 and then bend the frame from thick wire using it. We make the frame approximately, then when you create volume for it, all the flaws will be covered.

Natalya dreamed of making a chicken from colored bags, but she only came across rustling ones, and they wouldn’t look very good. Therefore, I decided to make soft, dense bags from what I had (the black one is thinner), from which we can make a pied hen))).
We cut strips from the bags, 3 cm strips will be needed on the body, and 2 cm on the head. The strips also need to be cut across to make a long ribbon. It didn’t take a lot of bags to make the chicken, 3-4 pieces of each color. It also depends on the tightness of the parts.

Now we take a thin wire and start assembling a ribbon on it, we should get a ruffle like in the photo.

The volume of the chicken is made of bags, we fix it with tape or some kind of synthetic tape. We start adding volume to the chicken from the tail. We put a corner of the bag on the tail and fasten it with tape. We braid five braids from bags, securing the edges with a stapler. Now we glue the frills to the bag on the tail with a glue gun.
The chicken will turn out to be approximately the size of a regular chicken, it all depends on the frame, which one you draw, that’s what you’ll get. You can stuff the chicken with unnecessary rags or paper, but if you are making it for the street, then stuff it with plastic bags, otherwise everything inside will rot. It is best to glue the finished frills with a glue gun.

Gradually we reach the breast.

We shape the breast from bottom to top like a frill.

If we do not change the length of the ribbons, then we will end up with a plump breast.

We take the wire and make paws from it.

We screw it onto the base, but it doesn’t turn out very securely, so we fill it with hot glue.

We trace the head on plastic (you can take a stand for hot food), draw a comb, beak, beard and cut it out with an allowance of 0.5 cm. We fix it with a glue gun (a super thing, after all), it’s better to paint it before fixing it.

We are finishing the final touches - adding ruffles to the head. We will make the eyes from the buttons on the leg, paint them with orange nail polish and draw the eyes with a black permanent marker. We wrap the legs with tape cut from the packaging. The chicken from the plastic bags is ready.

I knitted it simply, in single crochets. in a circle, everything by eye, but measured on the knee, when you sit, the leg is bent at the knee at an angle of 90 degrees, so you put this handbag on this bent knee, turn the very convenient template. Well, about the hook, depending on how thick you cut the ribbons, i.e. what bags do you have, I crocheted 4, but again I cut them by eye, the blue ones are thicker, because... The bags are thin, and the white ones are thinner because... thicker bags...

Turquoise bag

Size: 23 x 18 cm.

You will need: A total of 200 g of Record 210 Color yarn (100% cotton; 90 m/50 g): 150 g of blue-green color, No. 214 and 50 g of turquoise color, No. 151. You can use Record 210 Fancy, Scooter or Palermo yarn ; hook No. 3 and 4; 2 plastic rings with a diameter of 4 cm; 1 braided clasp and 2 plastic stoppers.
Types of loops: see description of hook loops.
Pattern: knit according to the pattern, repeat. 2-5th r.
Knitting density: 10 x 10 cm = 14 p. x 9 r. pattern.

Description of work:

Front and back parts: using a blue-green thread, cast on 33 stitches. n. and elm. 18 cm pattern according to the diagram.

Side parts and bottom: knit trace in one piece. way: with a turquoise thread, cast on 6 in. n. and elm. 59 cm art. b/n. Attach 1 r. to a knitted strip with a turquoise thread. Art. b/n to the front and back parts of the bag, then knit 1 p. Art. "crawfish step" Knit another 2 rows along the top edge. Art. b/n and 1 r. Art. “crawfish step” with turquoise thread.
Assembly and processing:
Tie the plastic rings with a turquoise thread with crochet No. 3. For the handle, pull about 40 blue-green threads between these rings at a distance of 40 cm and tie all the threads with crochet No. 3 with a blue-green thread 1 r. Art. b/n. Sew the rings along with the handles to the side parts of the bag. For ties, use turquoise and blue-green elm thread. chain of c. item 1 m long.
Tie the lace to the front and back parts and secure the stoppers at the ends.

Cut the plastic bag into strips about 1 cm wide.
Weave a long braid from three strips (two colors).

Progress:

We cut the polyethylene into strips so that the width allows us to completely seal the bucket. We glue tape in vertical stripes onto the bucket itself, and then cover it with a bag. We do this so that afterwards there are no gaps between the shuttlecocks.
Now we make our own shuttlecocks. We cut off the top and bottom sides of the polyethylene and cut it lengthwise into two parts. We need 6 of these blanks.
Using a needle and thread, baste the long part of the polyethylene blank. We need 2 blanks for one row. You need to gather the top part by pulling the thread. Tie the workpiece. Don't forget to try our shuttlecock on a bucket to find out how much you need to tighten the thread. The shuttlecock must completely “hug” the bucket in a circle once.
We need 3 of these shuttlecocks. Make sure your skirts are not too long. If you don't like the length, just cut off the extra part.
Now use glue to attach the shuttlecocks to the bucket, starting from the bottom.
The top one needs to be glued neatly and evenly along the edge.
Make a flat braid from the bags with your own hands and glue it to the edge of the top flounce, covering the unsightly edge.
Now let's make a handle. If you have a handle on a bucket, you can simply decorate it with colorful polyethylene, wrapping our braid around it. If you don’t have a handle, make it out of rope, which you can decorate in the same way.

Bend the resulting branch in half and glue it to the bottom of the wire branch.
This way you can add the required number of additional branches.
Cut out a cross-shaped stand from cardboard. The sides of the cross should be long enough.
You need to glue the Christmas tree to the center.

The idea of converting polyethylene packages into fun crafts was the beginning of long-term environmental project: "I can toys trash turn» .

In this case, for work, I found green bags that are super durable. They have welded side seams. Previously, I used “T-shirt” type packaging bags for work.

Cut with fringe, strip width 5 mm

We straighten the twisted strips, but not completely (the long ones get tangled, become electrified and then fall under the blade of the scissors).

You can use a ruler.

Cut off the first strip at an acute angle. Next we cut from undercut to undercut. We do it very carefully; in case of a mistake, it turns out not a ribbon, but rings.

We wind the ribbons onto balls.
We make double blanks from cardboard with a fold of 25 and 20 mm wide

Making green pom-poms: * 10 turns with green ribbon, 3 turns with white ribbon*...130 turns in total.
Using a 4-fold thread, we tightly tie the winding towards the fold of the cardboard.

We insert the blade of the scissors between the layers of cardboard and cut the winding.

Fluff the pompom and even it out a little with scissors.

For spruce 350 mm high, prepare:
on cardboard there are 25-17 green pompoms, 3 colored;
narrow the cardboard by 2-3 mm - 13 green pompoms, 3 colored ones;
on cardboard there are 20-10 green pompoms, 2 colored ones;
narrow the cardboard by 2-3 mm - 9 green pompoms, 1 colored one;
for the top of the head 1 two-color pompom.

Glue 1/4 of a circle with a radius of 300 mm into a cone. For reliability, you can stitch or staple.
We start gluing with large pompoms. The first row of pompoms is 10 green.
